What is the Gaebelein Institute?
The Gaebelein Institute for the Integration of Faith & Learning is a strategic initiative of The Stony Brook School designed to preserve, promote, and extend the school’s historic mission of integrating faith and learning. We endeavor to provide resources, articles, podcasts, videos, and professional development opportunities through the lens of uncompromising academic excellence married with uncompromising Christian faith. With a century of leadership in Christian education from key figures such as Frank E. Gaebelein and D. Bruce Lockerbie, our goal is to deepen understanding of Christian pedagogy and foster a wider community around the historic academic vision of integration faith and learning.
What is our mission?
The Gaebelein Institute for the Integration of Faith & Learning exists to advance Frank E. Gaebelein’s vision for the integration of faith and learning by equipping Christian educators and cultivating a vibrant intellectual community rooted in biblical truth and cultivation of virtue. In alignment with The Stony Brook School’s mission to empower young men and women to live lives of moral character, purpose, and leadership, the Institute serves as a center for thought leadership, resource development, and professional formation for those committed to Christ-centered education. Through publishing, training, and convening, the Institute seeks to inspire excellence in teaching and to extend the transformative power of Christian education to schools and institutions around the world.
